Current Information
Same similar, informal, laid back, relaxed, fun, . . . . atmosphere and schedule as previous years. HOWEVER, this year also includes a Pinewood Derby (See linked required Registration Form, rules, fees, etc. for details. Call or email Commander Mark Hausner, Pinewood Derby Coordinator, for Pinewood Derby details, 919-812-2186, cmdrhausner@nc.rr.com). Note how many plan to attend from your outpost on this form and Pinewood Derby for planning purposes. Some of the other activities may include the climbing wall, obstacle course, fishing, hiking, etc. as coordinators are available. Friday and Friday night is arrival, set-up and free time. Registration for the Pinewood Derby will begin at 5:00pm Friday and competition begins at 7:00pm Friday night (for earlier registries) and continues on 9:00am Saturday morning and completion around 4:00pm Saturday afternoon. We will also assemble at 5:30pm, Saturday, at the Commons Area for the traditional One Pot Meal, however note that all outposts are required to bring all they need for the meal (plates, cups, plastic ware, napkins, trash bags, drink, desert, etc.) and make more than enough as always for your outpost, judging and any visitors. The One Pot Meal will be judged as always and the winner as well as the next top two will be announced at the Saturday night Awards Ceremony and Council Fire. The Saturday night Awards Ceremony and Council Fire will be at the Commons area and will begin at 8:00pm. Make plans for your outpost to have a skit for the Saturday night Council Fire and if any boy(s) (men also) may have a testimony, devotion or story they would like to share to please contact Commander Hubbard to be included in the Council Fire Service. The final assembly for the Fall Camp Out is the Saturday Night Council Fire due to some Outposts needing to be back at their churches on Sunday morning.
Send the completed Fall Camp-Out and Pinewood Derby Registration Forms to Commander Michael Hubbard, 110 Dry Avenue, Cary, NC, 27511, 919-467-6960 no later than 1 October 2008 if you plan to take part in the Pinewood Derby.
